Privacy statement

Rejesus.co.uk respects your right to privacy in regard to the personal information you provide us on this website. Unless otherwise stated in this policy or at the time information is collected, all personal information you provide to rejesus.co.uk will be known only to us. Rejesus.co.uk is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Please read the following policy, which explains how your personal information will be treated as you make use of this site. Personal information includes, but is not limited to, your name, street and email addresses and any other personal information you may provide here. This policy is subject to change, so please check back periodically.

Community boards – Those who register for the rejesus.co.uk bulletin boards are required to provide us with a username, password and working email address. We use this information to set up your account. We do not sell or redistribute this membership list. Occasionally the administrators will send you email at the address you provide, either to send announcements relating to the boards or to resolve issues that may arise with your use of them. The email address is displayed in your member profile, but you may elect to hide this from public view or change your email address at any time. Community board participants are expected to comply with the rules governing the area, but we cannot control third parties' use of information you voluntarily provide in a public forum.

"Email this page to a friend" feature – The rejesus.co.uk community boards offer an "email this page to a friend" feature, allowing site visitors to send email to friends to inform them about a discussion they might be interested in reading. This feature requires an email address for the recipient and from the sender. This information is not stored or saved and you will not receive email or other communications from rejesus.co.uk as a result of having used this feature. "Email this page to a friend" is a mail service that visitors to the rejesus.co.uk bulletin board may make use of to send individual emails. While this tool cannot be used to send mass "spam" mailings, rejesus.co.uk has no control over how our visitors use it, and any email sent through it originates with, and is the responsibility of, the sender, not rejesus.co.uk.

Use of cookies – We use cookies on the community boards of rejesus.co.uk, and only if you have registered as a member of the boards. We do this for two reasons. The use of cookies for the discussion boards makes it easy for you to post messages. If your browser is set to accept cookies, it means that our software "recognises" you when you arrive on the boards and doesn't have to ask you to verify your username or password. If your browser is set to reject cookies, you will have to give your information every single time you post – which is tedious and time-consuming for you.

We also use cookies in our voting pages in the community section of rejesus.co.uk. This helps us to allow only one vote per person.

If you are not sure about how your browser is set, the chances are that it is accepting cookies, because this is the default setting. To check, go to your browser's "preferences" menu item. In there, you should find a section on cookies. Simply select the "accept all cookies" option, and if you don't want to be warned every time the browser is asked to accept a cookie, make sure the box is unchecked.

Ezine – rejesus.co.uk publishes a site ezine, to which visitors may elect to subscribe or unsubscribe at any time. The information gathered is not released by us to anyone else, except as provided for below.

Contact with rejesus.co.uk partners – Emails may be sent to "Lifeline at Premier". This is a confidential service, and email addresses are not passed to any third party. Users may also email the Christian Enquiry Agency (CEA) for information. Relevant contact details are only passed on if users requests specific information: for example, details about a local Alpha course and/or contact with a local Christian. CEA only makes contact when requested by individuals – CEA never makes unsolicited contact.

Promotions – From time to time, rejesus.co.uk may sponsor competitions or other events which require the collection, processing and storage of individual contact and demographic information (e.g., your age and place of residence) to be used for the event. We may also co-sponsor these events along with other companies, in which case the user's individual contact and demographic information is likely to be shared with other participating sponsors, who may use this information as they wish. A registrant's personal contact and demographic information will not be released to any third-party organization other than named sponsors without the user's consent, and rejesus.co.uk will request that such named sponsors uphold the privacy of the registrants' information by not distributing or sharing such information with any other businesses or organizations.

Surveys – rejesus.co.uk may from time to time conduct voluntary surveys of visitors to the site to obtain aggregate demographic information about them. Such information may be compiled and shared with third parties, but no personal details will be traceable or associated with specific individuals.

Post a Prayer – text which is entered by users in the Post a Prayer section of the site is not collected for permanent storage by rejesus.co.uk. All the text entered by users is automatically deleted from the system when the prayer disappears from public view.

Other disclosure of personal information – rejesus.co.uk will not otherwise use or disclose your personal information without your consent except as described in this privacy policy, or as required by law, court order or as requested by other government or law enforcement authorities. This policy does not protect information you voluntarily post to any community board here.

Unsubscribe and data removal policies – If you would like to remove your name and email address from our community board registration database, you can send an email requesting removal to editor@rejesus.co.uk. If you would like to remove your name and email address from our ezine list, you can send an email requesting removal to editor@rejesus.co.uk.

Unsolicited emails? – rejesus.co.uk does not send unsolicited emails. Our policy is only to send emails to people who have requested them and have given their consent; in the course of providing a service that they have requested; or by using by agreement third-party lists which people have joined on the understanding that they will receive email related to the subject of the list.

Security of information – rejesus.co.uk is committed to ensuring that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure that information is secure. However, data transmitted over the Internet can never be guaranteed to be 100 per cent secure.
