In five short pieces for Christmas, we follow the main characters of the story – Jesus, Mary, Joseph, shepherds and angels, and the wise men – as seen in an Eastern icon of the Nativity. Christmas is so often sentimentalised and made sugary sweet, with cute angels and gurgling babies. We chose this icon, with its unusual take on the Christmas story, to make us take a fresh look at the story of Jesus' birth.
