| The "beer glass" image is part of a campaign for Christmas 2006 with the aim of getting people to think more about God, and where he can be found today. The campaign has been put together by an independent group of Christian communicators, the Churches Advertising Network (CAN). The campaign includes posters like the one above, plus radio adverts. So why the image of an empty beer glass? Francis Goodwin, Chair of CAN, says: "The message is subtle, but simple: where is God in all the boozing at Christmas? For many, Christmas is about drinking and partying, and God is excluded. Yet many young people are interested in finding deeper meaning and exploring faith. We hope the link to myspace.com will offer a fresh venue for them to discuss their feelings and debate the issues." |
